Volunteer opportunities

Volunteering with Living the Dream Dog Rescue is an excellent way to make a real difference in the lives of dogs in need. We rely entirely on the support of our volunteers, which is why we need passionate and committed individuals like you to help us out. Whether you're interested in transporting dogs, raising funds, or simply spending time socializing with our dogs, we have a role that is perfect for you.

The dedication and commitment of our volunteers is essential for us to be able to help dogs in need. If you're looking for a fulfilling way to make a difference in your community, we encourage you to become a volunteer at our rescue. Join us in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for dogs in need.

Here are some ways to help:

Screen Applications: Volunteer screeners play a critical role in our organization! You will be responsible for calling applicants, verifying information, checking vet and personal references, and calling landlords, when applicable.

Fundraisers:  As a non-profit organization, all funds raised goes toward our dogs. While the adoption fee is designed to cover basic expenses, we require additional funding to grow and provide the extra care many of our dogs need. We conduct many events annually and also welcome corporate donors to support our fundraising efforts.

Attend Adoption Events: Volunteers at adoption events are critical to our success. Volunteers handle dogs at the events, sharing their stories with potential adopters. All it takes is a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Children have to be at least 12 years old to volunteer with a parent, and 18 years old to handle a dog on their own.

Meet Us at Transport: We often needs assistance on transport day.  This involves meeting us at an assigned location, taking a dog off the transport van, and joining us at the vet, where our pups are thoroughly checked out before heading off to their foster home.  We need additional help transporting dogs to/from fosters, to vet offices, etc. If you would like to volunteer your time and vehicle, we need drivers to help us . We coordinate the transports and can work with you and within the area you're willing to drive.  All you need is a valid driver's license and proof of insurance!

Photographer | Videographer: We are also looking for help taking photos and videos of our dogs! Whether you’re into taking high quality portraits, or filming and editing TikTok’s we can use your skills!

Student Volunteers:  Are you in elementary, middle school, or high school?  Are you interested in helping dogs in need? If so, LTTDR would love your help! We are always looking for innovative ways to educate, involve, and share our experiences with kids!

Here are a few other ideas on how you can help:

  • Host car washes, dog washes, bake sales, yard sales.

  • Donation Drives: Collect towels, food, blankets, and toys for dogs and puts!

  • Education Projects: We can help with classroom projects to help educate your friends on responsible pet ownership
